Bethany is a Certified Intern Instructor and 2nd Dan Black Belt in Hapkido who has been training with HCA since 2014. Over the years, she has developed a strong foundation in martial arts while demonstrating exceptional leadership, dedication, and commitment to the HCA community. She currently serves as the Vice Captain of the HCA Eagles Demonstration Team and is studying a Bachelor of Computing Science (Honours) at the University of Technology Sydney.
As an instructor, Bethany plays an important role in both teaching and administration across HCA. She assists with regular classes, school programs, and special events, helping students develop their martial arts skills in a positive and supportive environment. Her approachable nature and encouraging teaching style allow students of all ages and abilities to feel comfortable, motivated, and confident throughout their training journey.
Bethany is passionate about helping students grow both on and off the training floor. She focuses on building confidence, discipline, resilience, and self-belief while ensuring classes remain engaging, enjoyable, and rewarding. Her ability to connect with students creates a welcoming atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to challenge themselves and achieve their goals.
In addition to her instructional responsibilities, Bethany serves as Vice Captain of the HCA Eagles Demonstration Team, where she plays a key role in leading and developing one of HCA's most recognised groups. Through this position, she helps showcase the values, skills, and community spirit of HCA at events across Sydney.
Vice Captain – HCA Eagles Demonstration Team
As Vice Captain of the HCA Eagles Demonstration Team, Bethany is responsible for:
- Coordinating demonstrations and workshops at community events and local schools
- Choreographing performance routines
- Conducting auditions and assessments for prospective team members
- Planning and leading demonstration team training sessions
- Supporting the organisation and fundraising of team events and activities
Through her leadership, teaching, and dedication to martial arts, Bethany continues to inspire students and contribute to the growth of HCA and the HCA Eagles Demonstration Team.
