Head Instructor Kervin is the Main Instructor at HCA Belrose and one of the longest-serving instructors within the Hapkido College of Australia. With more than 20 years of martial arts experience and a 4th Degree Black Belt in Hapkido, Kervin has dedicated much of his life to the study, practice, and teaching of martial arts. As a Certified Instructor, he has helped guide countless students on their martial arts journeys, from young children taking their first class through to youth and adult practitioners developing advanced skills.
Kervin's passion lies in helping every student become the best version of themselves. He understands that each individual learns differently and believes that effective teaching requires adapting to the unique needs, abilities, and goals of every student. His patient and supportive approach creates a welcoming environment where students can build confidence, develop new skills, and progress at their own pace.
His teaching experience began long before becoming a Hapkido instructor, having worked with children at tennis camps where he developed a strong foundation in coaching and student engagement. These skills were further refined through years of martial arts training and mentorship under Master Young Kil Kim, helping him become the respected instructor he is today.
Throughout his martial arts journey, Kervin has trained in a variety of disciplines, developing a broad understanding of different styles, training methods, and philosophies. This diverse experience allows him to bring a balanced perspective to his teaching and helps him tailor techniques and movement patterns to suit the individual needs of each student. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, Kervin focuses on helping students discover what works best for their body, abilities, and goals.
As the leader of HCA Belrose, Kervin is committed to maintaining the high standards of instruction, professionalism, and community that HCA is known for. His dedication to student development and passion for martial arts continue to make a lasting impact on students and families throughout the Northern Beaches community.
